We sell household machines for household use (sewing machines and sergers). The machines we carry are available to purchase while you are at our store or by phone with in-store pick-up. In-stock machines can be received the same day. All others will be ordered and you will be notified when your order is ready. If you are entitled to free instruction, then pick-up and lesson time can be scheduled together.
With each new BERNINA
sewing machine purchase made, you get
one year free service & one free tune-up within twelve months of purchase/pick up date. Please provide a copy of your receipt as needed. We follow the manufacturer's service allowance for sergers.
With each new elna & elnita sewing machine purchase above $598.00, you get
one year free service & one free tune-up
within twelve months of purchase/pick up date. Please provide a copy of your receipt as needed. We follow the manufacturer's service allowance for sergers.
With each in-store purchase of a new elna, BERNINA, and
select Juki and Singer sewing machines you are entitled to
free instruction on machine operations. This includes the new serger you buy from us. Call to schedule an appointment for a one-on-one lesson. We schedule one hour at a time. The average request is two lessons but more time may be scheduled, as needed. Each hour is valued at $98.00. The value of two lessons is $196.00!
Minimum Total Value of free services $305.95
Side note: It is ok to follow your book and perform mini tune-ups, but if you try to repair your new machine on your own and do more than what is in the operator's manual, it is possible your free service period is terminated by the manufacturer. Please call if you have a question. A new machine tune-up is currently valued at $109.95- $245.00.
Juki household machines do not have a free service period from the manufacturer. With that in mind, we are happy to assist and you may not be charged for service the first 90 days from date of purchase depending on the need.
Sewing Machine Promotions And Sales
Special Promotions are developed from time to time by each one of the companies and these sales will not always be reflected on our webpages. However, at the time of purchase of your new machine, you will receive the manufacture's sale price for the duration of the sale. You may call us at (207) 799-0032 to inquire as to whether or not we are a "participating dealer" in a nationally advertised campaign.
We do not sell product online. However, there are some BERNINA machines and accessories that can be put into a shopping cart at the Bernina.com website. During check-out you are asked to select your dealer. You may select South Portland Sewing Centre. It is that simple!
We know that some Bernina promotions end on Mondays when we are closed. For those of us who cannot make a decision until the last minute, the bernina.com shopping is the only way to go so you do not miss the special pricing.
